The CO₂ laser has revolutionized the treatment of facial skin altered by age, environment, or accident. In skin resurfacing, the physician defines a specific treatment area and uses the laser to remove superficial layers of skin one layer at a time. The laser allows extraordinary control of the depth and breadth of treatment and is safe enough to use even on the delicate skin of the eyelids to treat crow’s feet. The procedure is often combined with eyelid surgery or BOTOX® Cosmetic injections to provide optimum results.
