Todd R. Shepler, M.D.
Dr. Todd Shepler was born in Kansas City, Missouri, and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After winning the 5A Oklahoma Cross-Country State Championship his senior year in high school, Dr. Shepler attended Rice University on a track scholarship. He transferred to the University of Kansas and in 1993 graduated with honors receiving a bachelor’s degree in Human Biology with a minor in Chemistry. He then attended the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine where he served as Class President. After medical school, Dr. Shepler completed a transitional year internship at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin, Texas. He then moved to San Francisco, California, where he completed a three-year residency in Ophthalmology and served as Chief Resident at California Pacific Medical Center. He joined Texas Oculoplastic Consultants full time after completing a two-year fellowship in Oculoplastic and Reconstructive surgery there in July 2004. Dr. Shepler is a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Ophthalomolgy at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, where he has been actively teaching since 2002.  Dr. Shepler has also served as President of the Austin Ophthalmology Society from 2003-2005.

Dr. Shepler’s interests include running, boating, water-skiing, fly-fishing, snow-skiing, and traveling. He is married to Dr. Maria Shepler, a comprehensive Ophthalmologist specializing in cataract, cornea, and refractive surgery. He and his wife have a recent addition to their family born in March of 2007.
