Shore , who had been practicing in Boston at Harvard Medical School, joined Dr. Neuhaus in 1997 and formed a new practice, Texas Oculoplastic Consultants. They built a new office and an adjacent state-of-the-art ambulatory surgical center, CAREOS, with the goal of providing leading-edge oculoplastic surgical care in Central Texas. Dr. Sean M. Blaydon, Assistant Clinical Professor at The University of Texas Health Science Center and former Director of Oculoplastic Surgery at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, and Dr. Todd R. Shepler , Clinical Instructor of Oculoplastic Surgery in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio (UTHSC-SA), joined the practice in the summer of 2004. Dr. Tanuj Nakra has been a faculty member at the UCLA Jules Stein Eye Institute as well as been in private practice. He has lectured both nationally and internationally, and volunteered his skills to provide reconstructive surgery for children in Guatemala. Dr. Nakra joined TOC in 2008. In addition to providing oculoplastic and oculofacial surgery in central Texas, TOC physicians are committed to teaching, research, and the education of other physicians. All four physicians serve on the teaching staffs of area medical schools. On site at TOC, they provide ongoing education for other established physicians from the U.S. and abroad, and TOC serves as a teaching facility offering a fully accredited post-residency Fellowship training program in oculoplastic and oculofacial plastic surgery. |
